Leo Blackman should resign his Town of Amenia committee positions and withdraw his candidacy for Town Council. Mr. Blackman, in a recent recorded Zoom Town of Amenia Affordable Housing Committee meeting, joked that the biggest crime in Amenia is incest:

The Town of Amenia must end its divisions and come together for the Common good. We cannot have Town leaders who insult and degrade groups of people. This is not a partisan petition; other Democrats, WF party, Republicans and “Amenia Strong” candidates seem reasonable to consider. But a person who looks at the neighbors they seek to serve as less than them and as inferior humans is divisive and should not lead our local government. His behavior is analogous to that of a racist, sexist or one of the many other discriminatory behaviors our society now correctly rejects. Please help heal our divisions by signing this petition.
