Sometimes standing up for what’s right means risking being retaliated against. Some days it means being bullied. Other days you’re standing up to bullying and when pride and ego take over sometimes it’s easier to try and make the very people doing the right thing out to be bullies. it can mean being ridiculed and lied on. One day it may mean receiving“cease and desist” orders as scare tactics that targets your “lawful” behavior while being filled with inaccuracies. Sometimes it means taking a hit for those who feel they’re not strong enough to speak up for themselves. It may even mean shielding people from being exposed for things that they truly were engaging in that they didn’t know was wrong. Standing up for what’s right might mean standing alone, but standing on. And one day it may mean upsetting a friend because now you have no choice but to be honest, open, and truthful. As you read this please ask yourself a few questions. What do I stand for? Can I stand for what’s going on around me? Do I want a better work environment? Do I want my residents thriving and happy as well as their families? After all isn’t it the families that pay our salaries? Do I want to work in compliance? Do I like the way I am treated at work? Am I making a difference and enriching the lives of those around me? I thank every single person that has signed this petition and I encourage you to continue sharing it with others. Because sometimes standing for what’s right might mean signing a petition. It could even mean being a subpoenaed witness…..
