Many staff members who are use to receiving their checks in their accounts days ahead of payday were angry because this would make some of their scheduled bills late. This raises questions and concerns as to what is going on financially with the company. Are the lights barely being kept on at this point? Usually If a business faces a tight cash-flow week, issuing physical checks can provide a necessary 2-3 day "float" before the funds actually clear from the company's account. Years ago when the company did business under the name Affinity Living Group, it came a time when Walmart nor any other check cashing places would cash their payroll checks after employees payroll checks begin to bounce.
