Say NO to the Bay Marina Project

Newbiggin by the Sea has a beautiful unspoilt, natural bay offering spectacular views. It is universally loved by residents and visitors alike. The beach and promenade are the jewels in the crown of our village. Part of the larger marine conservation zone, it has several sections which are classed at sites of special scientific interest (SSSIs). The bay is a place to see much marine life including dolphins and seals. Please help us to protect what we have.

The Newbiggin Development Trust secured a grant from Newbiggin Town Council to part fund a feasibility study into constructing a marina in our lovely bay. That study was completed in 2018 and has remained hidden from public view until now. A marina will dramatically change our bay forever.  It will result in a loss of some of our beach front (the study suggests between 30% - 50%). It will result in dirty polluted water. There has been no public consultation. Any questions are declined and opposing views ignored.
