Residential Solar Tax Credit Please Bring It Back

Residential Solar Tax Credit Please Bring It Back
The Issue
To: President of the United States and Members of Congress
Subject: Restore the Solar Tax Credit to Power American Homes and Jobs
We, the undersigned, demand the immediate reinstatement of the Residential Solar Tax Credit, eliminated by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) after September 30, 2025. This critical tax credit—worth up to 30% of the cost of installing solar panels on homes—has empowered millions of Americans to save on energy bills, create jobs, and fight climate change. Its removal hurts homeowners, kills jobs, and dims America’s clean energy future.
Why the Solar Tax Credit Matters:
- Saves Homeowners Money: The credit cuts thousands off the cost of solar panels, helping families lower electricity bills by $1,000-$2,000 a year.
- Boosts Jobs: The solar industry supports over 250,000 American jobs. Ending the credit threatens these livelihoods and local economies.
- Protects Our Planet: Solar power reduces pollution, helping combat climate change and keep our air clean for future generations.
- Prevents inflation and over demand of natural, gas, and oil.
- Helps end United States energy emergency.
- Makes our electrical grid more reliable and safer for everyone by eliminating small targets in grid infrastructure for example one power plant goes down most of cities power would go down our electrical grid and infrastructure has been very infiltrated by hacks and is very vulnerable to hypothetically in a war situation if one or 2 power plants were bombed a whole city would go down in that area, With residential solar feeding energy back to the grid from houses this makes our grid much more affordable, sustainable and secure.
Only 4% of houses have solar our grid would be much more secure if it was 75%.
If tax credit extended to residential and commercial we could catch up with Chinas massive grid infrastructure installed over the past years.
If tax credit was raised immensely instead of investing in solo power plants that are very vulnerable to attacks like seen in Ukraine then this would speed up the infrastructure construction and weed out demand issues.
Off tax credit was lowered then this would still help contribute keeping sustainable energy ongoing while other construction is done instead of basically halting it.
Ai infrastructure is much safer and would be harder to take down if put on alternative energy solar grid rather than sole power plants.
Our Demand: We urge President Trump and Congress, Senators, Department of Energy, IRA to issue an executive order or pass legislation to restore the Residential Solar Tax Credit in some way or another immediately. Let’s keep solar affordable, create jobs, and power America with clean, homegrown energy.
