Caroline Robinson started this petition to residential school survivors and

Father Joseph Adams was a man who did horrific things to the students who where forced into Grollier Hall residential school. There is a street named after him in Inuvik, NWT.

Father Adams is a highly celebrated man that did horrific acts to the children who attended Grollier hall residential school while hiding behind the cross.

this man molested and raped many of the students of grollier hall, a couple examples: My mother and aunties were taken from their family in the Cambridge Bay area when my mom was only 5 years old. Father Adams took my mother when she was between the ages of 5 and 6 into the dome church that he helped build and brought her up to the top of the dome where all the windows are and molested her. He knew where to hide as he helped build that church. That same year he raped my auntie who was only 12 years in the garden, he helped to construct this garden too. The nuns prepped my auntie by stuffing her shirt before sending her into the garden to father adams.

My auntie told me she watched many young Inuit girls being taken by Father Adams and the nuns into the church and garden, my auntie and mom never spoke about what happened to them until they were filling out their residential school claims, they discovered then that he had done this to them both. I am sure this vile man did this to many more Inuit, he does not deserve to have a street named after him with all the horrific things he had done in that school. I would love to see the church torn down too and a plaque or memorial set up for the residential school children but I will be happy if we can have this street named changed

Please help my sister's and I get this street name changed as it is a slap in the face to every student who attended Grollier Hall Residential school.
