It has been such a beautiful day today and it really reminds us what a wonderful part of the world we live in.
This morning I sat in the garden listening to the song of a goldfinch, watching buzzards soaring high on the thermals above and noticing the clouds slowly building across the sky.
Moments like that make you appreciate the peace and beauty of the Wriggle Valley. But it also reminded me of our local river — only recently recovering after untreated sewage was discharged into its flowing waters.
The petition continues to gather strong support and thank you to everyone who has signed and shared it.
Today I have been preparing proposals to present to our MP, Wessex Water, the Environment Agency, local councils and residents. These proposals focus on practical ways to prevent untreated sewage surcharging at Brister End and reduce discharges into the River Wriggle.
I am now looking for volunteers to help form a community group so we can continue to push this campaign forward and deliver real change.
If you would like to get involved, please get in touch.
Please continue to support the campaign by signing and sharing the petition.
