In January 2026, developer Cloverleaf Infrastructure began reaching out to officials in Wrightstown, Wisconsin, about building a massive data center in the village. Residents didn't hear a word about it. That's not how local government should work. On August 11, 2026, nearly nine in ten Wrightstown voters turned out and rejected the data center outright. The Village Board listened, pausing new projects in June and extending that pause into a full one-year moratorium in July. But a moratorium expires.
