A problem has been snowballing the last 5 years. Violent language online. Social Media enables this people to share without consequences.

This petition calls for a more dedicated report feature that targets clear harassment and hatred based on gender. Men and women alike will benefit from this. The government should pass a law requiring platforms in this country to consider these types of comments as unsuitable, as they are hate speech.

Social media will disallow words like “rape” but allow “whore”? Lack of proper moderation is allowing violence and hate to foster online. 

Reports of comments that clearly refer to children under the age of consent in inappropriate manners, degrading comments toward women, violent comments toward men claiming they are gay, weak, or a “cuck” as an insult and they have been told they violate no guidelines. 

Maybe we need new guidelines then.

This suggestion aims to protect freedom of speech and protect the public from violence and falsifications.
