The Issue

For years, Lifetouch has been a staple in schools across the nation for children's school pictures. I remember vividly how some of my classmates even received modeling offers through this company back in grade school. It was widely assumed that Lifetouch was a reliable and safe choice for commemorating school memories through photographs. However, disturbing connections have recently surfaced that have caused alarm and concern among parents and communities.

Lifetouch was co-founded by Jeffrey Epstein, a notorious figure whose name is now synonymous with corruption and criminal activities, including child trafficking. Although the main ownership has since shifted hands, corruption does not simply vanish with a change in leadership. The shadow of Epstein's involvement still looms large over the legacy of Lifetouch, bringing into question the integrity and safety of the company.

Many schools have opted to stick with Lifetouch, choosing convenience and legacy over ensuring the safety and security of their students. By continuing to utilize Lifetouch, schools may inadvertently place students at risk, relying on a company with alleged links to horrifying activities. Our institutions have a responsibility to provide a safe and trustworthy environment for our children, which includes being vigilant about the companies they engage with.

We demand an immediate reevaluation of the contracts schools hold with Lifetouch and insist on the exploration and adoption of alternative photography services. There are numerous reputable and local photographers available who can provide the same quality of service without the baggage and potential risks associated with Lifetouch.

Switching to alternative photographers not only removes the potential threat but also supports local businesses, establishes new connections, and empowers schools to make decisions that prioritize student safety above all else.

Join me in urging our schools to take action, reassess their relationships with Lifetouch, and implement changes that align with our collective values of security, integrity, and community support.

Sign this petition to demand the use of alternative photography companies in our schools. Let’s protect our children and ensure the images that capture their youth are taken without the shadow of an unsettling past.
