Not much of an update - but I wanted to wish everyone a belated Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year.
Like every year, it feels like it flew by faster than we could imagine. And honestly, what an eventful year it’s been. Not a year I would have chosen - but without a doubt, a year of learning.
Most of us will go through periods like this at some point, and if this petition has shown me anything, it’s that we’re never truly alone. Sometimes all it takes is an idea - and the courage to reach out. Yes, it’s uncomfortable. Our minds are wired to protect us from uncertainty. But we’re also here to learn, grow, and step into the unknown.
This petition has come a long way. While no formal change has been implemented yet - and I haven’t received responses from those with decision-making power - the ultimate goal remains the same. That said, the process itself has already created something meaningful. Awareness has been raised. People have learned about pet-safe flowers. And in reality that already matters more than we realise.
This journey has been about learning non-attachment to outcomes, having the courage to do things I’ve never done before, reaching out without expectations, and being okay with differing opinions. I’m sure there are many lessons I’ve missed - but that’s part of it too.
Life has a way of giving us opportunities to create something meaningful from places we never expected. Thank you to my beautiful boy, Reuben, and to my wonderful mum - for giving me the courage to take steps I never thought I would.
And thank you to every single person who took a moment to watch, like, sign, share, comment — even to those who criticised. Awareness was the goal, and awareness is what we’ve created.
Cheesy - yes I know.
Wishing each and every one of you a gorgeous New Year and an amazing 2026 ahead
