Require North Bolivar School uniforms to be white and evergreen
The Issue
In the North Bolivar Consolidated School District, our school pride revolves around our mascot—the gator. The gator is a symbol of strength and resilience, and as many of you know, it is a vibrant shade of green. Yet, it's frustratingly noticeable that this distinctive green has been left out of our official school uniforms. Right now, elementary, middle, and high schools each have different colors: white, royal blue, orange, and navy blue for elementary; white and royal blue for middle school; and navy blue and orange for high school.
These colors do not reflect our unity as a district or our connection to our beloved mascot. More importantly, these changes in uniform colors have created a sense of division among students. By having separate colors for each school level, we inadvertently separate our student community. High schoolers and middle schoolers, for instance, no longer experience the pride tied to wearing a color that represents the quintessential spirit of our school district.
It's time for positive change. We are calling on the North Bolivar Consolidated School District to unify all official uniform shirts to be white and evergreen—colors that represent not only the gator but also unity and school spirit across all levels. Evergreen, as a color, encapsulates growth and renewal, ideals we want to instill in our students.
Making white and evergreen the official uniform colors will help connect students with their school, allowing each individual to wear their uniform with pride. It will reinforce the idea that although we are at different levels of education, we are collectively part of one vibrant community. Additionally, such unification can boost morale and enhance the sense of belonging, positively impacting students' educational experiences.
Let’s make a commitment to revamp our school spirits with all students wearing our pride—white and evergreen. Together, we can create an inclusive and harmonious atmosphere in our district schools that respects our symbol, fosters unity, and enhances our community spirit.
Join us in this important initiative to change our school uniform colors to white and evergreen. Please sign this petition today and make your voice heard.
