Require Norges Bank and Pollen Estate to relocate The Service cafe

Require Norges Bank and Pollen Estate to relocate The Service cafe
The Issue
"The Service was never just a café, it was a community."
The Service café has been more than just a local business; it has been a beacon of warmth and community in its neighbourhood. 5 years ago, during a time when many businesses were closing their doors due to the global pandemic, The Service café took a considerable gamble in opening its doors on The Row. It set up shop on a street, which like many others, was a shadow of its former self with only history echoing down empty sidewalks. This leap of faith not only gave birth to an incredible small business, but created a unique global community known for its inclusive and welcoming atmosphere. It breathed life into the Row, making it accessible, exciting, and new in a way many never thought possible in 2020. From run clubs to car shows The Service team built a community of both returning and fresh faces one event, post, and shot at a time. In return for this gamble, this grind, the expectation was that The Service would transfer across the street to a newly renovated location, once their original space needed refurbishment. After 5 incredible years, instead of rewarding the hard work of all those involved with The Service, Norges Bank Investment Fund and the Pollen Estate have changed course and now The Service is without a home. This small business, which has provided a space for community gatherings, cultural exchanges, and much-needed warmth during challenging times, deserves more than just being shut down. The landlords owe it to this vital establishment to seek alternative solutions that should not have included shutting down its current operations.
The impact of closing down The Service cafe cannot be underestimated. It will not only deprive the local community and its visitors of a unique gathering place but also dismantle the diverse and global community that has been cultivated over its operational years. We believe alternative locations should be sought to relocate the cafe, allowing it to continue serving its community without interruption.
While their doors on Saville Row have closed, the global community which was created by The Service is VERY much alive! So, as they search for a new home in central London they need our support!
We urge Norges Bank Investment Fund and the Pollen Estate to collaborate with The Service cafe owners and provide them with feasible relocation options on or close to Saville Row, so that this community can come back together with The Service at their new home before the spring. This would demonstrate a commitment to community values and support for small businesses, especially those which dared to open and thrive amid unpredictable economic conditions.
Please support The Service cafe in its pursuit to find a new location that will allow it to continue serving as a pillar of community and comfort. Sign this petition and help us persuade Norges Bank Investment Fund and the Pollen Estate to act responsibly for the future of The Service café and the community it cherishes.
