Require Mobile, AL to UPDATE OFFICIAL PERSONAL/BUSINESS SYSTEMS AND PUBLIC TRANSIT

Require Mobile, AL to UPDATE OFFICIAL PERSONAL/BUSINESS SYSTEMS AND PUBLIC TRANSIT
The Issue
Living in Mobile, Alabama should not mean that we have to wait weeks to receive our official identification cards, drivers licences, bank cards, Government issued cards, business licenses, and more in the mail. Furthermore, we should be able to conveniently log into Alabama's Secretary of State website and process our business filings, registratios, LLCs, etc. and pay those fees online just like every other state is freely able to. Unlike our neighboring states, where residents receive their IDs on the spot, we face delays that can significantly impact our livelihoods. For many of us, having immediate access to identification means the ability to secure employment, open bank accounts, or simply function in everyday life without "undue" hardship.
The current system, where residents are forced to wait for their IDs, Gov. Payment cards, and anytype of assistance period to arrive by mail, is outdated and "unnecessarily" burdensome. This delay can stand in the way of opportunities and impede progress for individuals and families trying to make ends meet. It’s a bureaucratic hurdle that contributes to increasing poverty rates, and even crime, as people are pushed further into survival mode.
The effects of this delay are manifold. Without needed documents readily available, individuals cannot prove their identity when required, whether for job applications, rental agreements, or other critical needs. This is more than an inconvenience – it’s a barrier to living a full and productive life.
I, myself, was financially stable out in New Orleans, before having to evacuate from Hurricane Ida, back in 2021. I had left my native town, Mobile, Al for these suffocating reasons... but because of Ida was forced back here. Needles to say, this is where my financial security ended. Hold up after hold up, low volume of productivity with the city's "traditional way of doing things", led me to wanting to make this change, and now I am determined to do so.
Additionally, I call for an overhaul of Mobile's public transportation system. Our citizens depend on reliable and consistent public transit to maintain their jobs and livelihoods. The current schedule does not accommodate our city's needs. People who work night shifts or unconventional hours find themselves stranded due to inconsistent transportation services.
Other cities have vibrant, 24-hour public transportation systems that support their citizens' diverse needs. It’s time for Mobile to step up and provide a similar level of service. Such access isn’t just a convenience; it’s a necessity for working families, students, and our elderly.
We deserve a system that reflects the needs of its people, catering to both the present and the future. By committing to provide immediate hard copy and official documents plus using updated systems that serve the city, state, and the community to keep Mobile rising along with our neighboring states allowing citizens to have what they need to thrive successfully, and 24-hour public transportation, Mobile can take significant steps towards enhancing the quality of life for its residents.
Let's propel Mobile forward by implementing these essential changes. Join me in urging our city officials to take immediate action. Sign the petition to demand Mobile, Alabama to update it's systems isssuing important documents, filings, payments, and identification cards on the spot and a public transportation system that runs 24/7.
