Following questions raised by residents, I formally wrote to Ealing Council requesting an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) screening opinion for the proposed development site behind The Greystoke.
See the image for the Council’s response for transparency.
At present, no formal planning application has been submitted. The Council has confirmed that an EIA screening opinion can only be issued once a formal application or formal screening request is made by the developer.
In other words:
• There is currently no live planning application
• No EIA has yet been requested by the applicant
• When one is submitted, it will appear on the public planning register and be open for consultation
This is exactly why it’s important that residents stay informed and organised now — before the formal application stage.
When the application is submitted, that is the moment where evidence, transport assessments, environmental studies, school impact data and health service impacts must be examined properly.
This isn’t about opposing development for the sake of it.
It’s about making sure that when proposals are formally submitted, they are properly scrutinised — with full transparency and evidence.
The more residents who are informed early, the stronger and more constructive our response can be.
