I attended the developer’s public exhibition for the proposals behind The Greystoke pub / south of North Ealing station. This is pre-planning (no planning application has been submitted yet).

Here are the key points residents were told on the day:

1) Parking
It was stated there would be no on-site parking. Underground parking was described as not being considered due to cost and loss of floor space. The expectation given was that residents will walk, use public transport, or cycle.

2) Size and population
The proposals discussed were for around 190 flats, with an estimated 400+ residents likely to live there.

3) Affordable housing
It was stated that roughly 40 of the 190 units would be “affordable” (terminology used by the project team).

4) Local services (GPs / schools)
When asked about GP and school capacity, there were no specific surgeries or schools identified as having confirmed capacity. The response was general: that the developer would contribute money via the council process.

5) Access / movement
The exhibition materials focused heavily on walking/cycling/public transport. Several visuals were described as illustrative rather than fixed or guaranteed.

Why this matters
This petition is not opposing development by default. It is asking for clear, published evidence on GP capacity, school places, traffic/access, and safety before any planning approval is granted.

What happens next
If and when a planning application is submitted to Ealing Council, residents will be able to submit formal individual planning comments. Those formal comments matter more than surveys.
