Require DNA testing for fathers signing birth certificates

The Issue

I am 55 years old and a father of two beautiful daughters. Recently, our lives were turned upside down when I discovered through a DNA test that the man who signed my  birth certificate is not my biological father. This revelation has been emotionally devastating and has caused a great deal of confusion and distress for my family.

This situation has highlighted a glaring issue in our current system: there is no mandatory DNA testing requirement for fathers who sign birth certificates. This oversight can lead to years of misunderstanding and emotional turmoil for children and families, as it did for mine. It is imperative that we take action to ensure that all parties involved have clarity and certainty regarding paternity from the very beginning.

Imagine the countless families who are unknowingly living in similar situations, where the person they believe to be their biological father may not be. By requiring DNA testing before signing a birth certificate, we can prevent such heartache and provide a more secure future for children.

DNA testing technology is not only accurate but also increasingly accessible and affordable. Many states and countries have already implemented similar protocols, ensuring that birth certificates reflect biological truth, ultimately protecting the rights and well-being of the child.

Therefore, I urge policymakers to enact legislation that mandates DNA testing for any man wishing to sign a birth certificate as the father. This step will affirm the biological relationship, providing peace of mind for families and ensuring that children's rights to know their biological parentage are respected.

Please sign this petition to support the implementation of mandatory DNA testing for fathers at the time of birth certificate signing. Together, we can protect our children and secure their futures with certainty and truth.knowingly or unknowingly, don't let either just believe, let them know, the earlier the better,my biological father has passed,I would have at least got to meet him,not to mention the future health concerns
