As an Indian citizen, I want a police system that’s transparent, accountable, and worthy of the trust we place in it. Making body-worn cameras mandatory across all police ranks is a simple step that can create massive change.

This isn’t about blaming officers — it’s about protecting both citizens and honest police personnel. Body cams reduce false accusations, prevent misuse of power, and provide clear evidence when things go wrong. Countries that implemented them saw huge drops in complaints and use-of-force incidents. There’s no reason India shouldn’t benefit from the same.

In a country as diverse and complex as ours, transparency isn’t optional — it’s essential. We’ve all seen situations where lack of evidence leads to confusion, mistrust, or injustice. Body cams give an unbiased record of events, speed up investigations, and strengthen faith in law enforcement.
