The Issue

In Massac County, Illinois, many residents are facing an alarming issue: inadequate 911 ambulance services that fail to meet the community's urgent needs. The right to timely and effective medical care is pivotal, especially in emergencies where every second counts. Unfortunately, the current ambulance service in our county is falling short of these essential standards, putting lives at risk.

Our emergency medical system is stretched thin, with significant delays in response times, limited availability of advanced life support units, and insufficient coverage during high-demand periods. According to recent reports, response times in several instances exceed the national average of eight minutes, often stretching to 15 minutes or more. For rural areas and situations involving severe trauma or cardiac arrest, such delays can mean the difference between life and death.

This is very important to me please if you can take the time to read and sign if you will Thank You

I am asking our community and beyond to come together to support better ambulance and emergency medical services to be available 24 hours a day every day in Massac County Illinois

During a devastating emergency involving my daughter Kayla Day no ambulance was available, and we had to drive her ourselves while she was in cardiac arrest. The vest she was wearing was shocking her many times, No parent or family should EVER have to experience this.

I have started a petition asking county leaders to improve ambulance availability EMS staffing, and emergency response services so other families do not face the same situation. If I had no vehicle what would I have done? Watched helplessly as she died in my arms? Unacceptable!

Please consider signing and sharing the petition to help bring attention to this critical issue in this community.

Every minute matters in an emergency this is the second time this has happened to my family with the ambulance service having no available ambulance in a crisis, 2 years ago my grandson had a seizure and wasn’t responding there were no ambulance to transport him and no vehicle was available and a police officer loaded him and my daughter to the hospital.

Let’s make a change, no parent should ever feel as I have, maybe the change could save your child’s life as mine lost hers that night and many minutes wasted on a ambulance that never came.

Thank You

We believe that Massac County deserves a robust and responsive 911 ambulance service, tailored to the unique needs of our community. This means enhancing current services with more ambulances equipped with advanced life support capabilities, increasing the number of trained emergency medical technicians, and implementing a strategic plan to ensure coverage during peak times.

By signing this petition, you're not only advocating for improved emergency services in Massac County but also potentially saving lives. Our goal is to urge local government officials, emergency service administrators, and healthcare providers to prioritize this critical issue and allocate the necessary resources to reform our ambulance services.

Let's come together as a community to ensure that no more lives are lost or compromised due to inefficient emergency response. Please sign this petition and support our call for action, because everyone deserves access to timely and effective medical care when it matters most.

God bless,
