In recent times, as I have witnessed, the representation within the US government, both at the State and Federal levels, has seen an increasing number of foreign-born citizens assuming seats. Currently, there are 19 members in the 119th US Congress who are foreign-born, along with numerous similar instances across state governments. This shift is not reflective of the traditional American dream of assimilation and contribution to the nation's growth.

The American dream, as many understand it, is built on the pillars of unity, cultural assimilation, and the collective effort of contributing to this great nation. Ensuring that all government representatives are natural-born citizens is an extension of this dream. It's about reaffirming the foundational values of our country and ensuring that the interests, cultures, and priorities of foreign nations or religions do not unduly influence our policy-making.

There is a pressing need to realign the representation by requiring that all government seats—State and Federal—are held exclusively by natural-born citizens. Such a requirement would ensure that policymakers prioritize the interests of American citizens above all else, free from any confluence of foreign agendas.

One might argue that foreign-born citizens bring diverse perspectives to the table, which can be true. However, policy-making, the backbone of governance, demands undivided loyalty to the nation they serve. This loyalty is better cemented when representatives share a common birthright and upbringing with the citizens they represent.
