I am a celiac living in Australia. I was diagnosed 11 years ago. Living with this condition has been challenging, especially when it comes to finding safe, gluten-free options at popular fast-food chains like McDonald's. We are asking for all Australian McDonald's outlets to offer gluten-free burgers and fries. 

Celiac disease affects approximately 1 in 70 Australians, with another 7% of the population reporting improved health when following a gluten-free diet (Coeliac Australia). Despite these numbers, many food establishments do not cater adequately to this dietary need.

McDonald's is a global leader in the fast-food industry and has an opportunity to set an example by offering more inclusive meal options. In several countries including Italy and Spain, McDonald’s already offers certified gluten-free meals.

By providing gluten-free burgers and fries in Australia, not only would they be catering to those with celiac disease but also expanding their customer base by appealing to those who prefer or require a gluten-free diet for other health reasons.

We urge McDonald’s Australia to consider this change seriously - because everyone deserves the chance to enjoy a worry-free meal at their favourite fast food chain. Please sign this petition if you support more inclusive menu options at Australian McDonald's restaurants.
