The Issue

Around 3 a.m. on June 20, 2011, Ryan Matthew Dunn( star of jackass, CKY, Viva La Bam) crashed his Porsche into a guardrail in West Goshen Township, Pennsylvania. His vehicle then landed in the nearby woods, where it burst into flames. Ryan Dunn did not survive the crash — and his death left countless fans in mourning. Dunn's Porsche 911 GT3 was traveling around 130 MPH when he veered into a guardrail, causing a fiery crash after hitting a group of trees. The car accident was so brutal, the Porsche completely came apart after hitting the trees, before bursting into flames, killing both of the men inside. On the night of his death, Ryan Dunn drank with abandon at Barnaby's West Chester bar. Then, Dunn and his friend, a production assistant named Zachary Hartwell, took off in Dunn's Porsche. At some point while on the road, Dunn accelerated to 130 miles per hour and veered off Route 322. Ryan Dunn had a blood-alcohol content that was more than twice the legal limit according to a toxicology report. Ryan had a blood-alcohol concentration of .196, more than double the legal limit. a man who drank with Dunn in the hours before his crash described Dunn's final binge in an interview with The Daily, saying he saw Dunn down four shots and beer before getting behind the wheel. Dunn had posted a picture of himself and Hartwell drinking at a bar just hours before the crash. About 30% of all traffic crash fatalities in the United States involve drunk drivers (with BACs of . 08 g/dL or higher). In 2020, there were 11,654 people killed in these preventable crashes. In fact, on average over the 10-year period from 2011-2020, about 10,500 people died every year in drunk-driving crashes. Help us keep the streets safe. Help us save so many lives. Ryan Dunn's death was devastating for millions of friends and fans alike. Please help us save lives.
