There is a major project slated for the center of the Village and hardly a whisper was spoken until a small group of residents found out and spread the word. No signs on the property and just three days’ notice on the Planning Board agenda via the Village website.
56 apartments - at 38.5' high, storage buildings, offices and 105 parking spots. Are Village officials looking out for residents, or the developer? This is a quality-of-life issue. The traffic study was funded by the developer, and did not encompass the neighboring blocks that will be dramatically impacted by this project if approved.
The developer has two "asks" that the Village Planning Board has the legal authority to deny: no building over 35' and no buffer reduction. Join other tax-paying citizens on September 21 at 6pm at Village Hall to express to the Planning Board what you would like to see on that site.
see attached photo showing that The Planning Board has the legal authority to deny such a tall building in the center of the Village. They also possess the legal authority to deny residents on the ground floor facing Main Street.
