We, the concerned residents of Maple Hill Court in Gaithersburg, are writing this to address the urgent need for more traffic stop signs and traffic lights in our neighborhood. This is at the intersection between Emory Grove, Maple Hill Court, and Strawberry Knoll. The lack of sufficient stop signs and traffic lights on our busy road poses a significant danger to pedestrians, especially during rush hour. This issue hits close to home as we and personally experienced the difficulties faced by our kids when they had to cross the road without any stop signs or cars stopping for them.

This intersection has become a cause for concern, with numerous accidents and near-misses occurring on a regular basis. We firmly believe that the installation of a traffic light and stop sign is crucial to safeguard the lives of pedestrians and drivers

Our kids sometimes have to cross the road in order to get on the school bus and off the bus when walking home. They have  encountered an extremely challenging situation while trying to cross the road near our community. With no stop signs in sight and no vehicles yielding for their safety, it was an alarming experience that left us deeply concerned about the well-being of all pedestrians in our neighborhood.

The absence of adequate traffic control measures on Maple Hill Court not only endangers pedestrians but also makes it incredibly difficult for residents to exit our community safely. The heavy flow of traffic during rush hour exacerbates this problem and puts everyone at risk.

To ensure the safety and well-being of all residents and visitors in Maple Hill Court, we urgently request that local authorities take immediate action by installing additional traffic stop signs at strategic locations throughout our neighborhood. These measures will help regulate vehicle speed and provide pedestrians with safer opportunities to cross the road.

We believe that implementing more traffic stop signs and traffic lights will have a positive impact on reducing accidents and enhancing pedestrian safety within our community. By signing this petition, we express our collective concern and urge local authorities to prioritize this issue promptly.
