Growing up in the area for over 40 year's and living in the picturesque village of Coal City, Illinois for 20 plus years. I have always cherished the sense of community and open dialogue that our small town can embrace. However, recent decisions by the Village Board and the new Aligned Data Center raise concerns that require transparency and public engagement. We are calling for regular townhall meetings to ensure that all community voices are heard in these critical discussions that will shape our livelihoods and environment.

The Aligned Data Center project promises economic growth but also brings potential environmental impacts, including increased noise pollution, potential strain on local resources, and changes in the village landscape. These are issues that directly affect every resident’s quality of life, and thus, each resident deserves the right to be informed and to express their concerns.

Townhall meetings provide a platform for the Village Board and Aligned Data Center representatives to present detailed plans, address the community's questions, and consider local input in their decision-making processes. Such transparency can foster trust and collaboration, benefiting the community and stakeholders alike.
