We, the students and faculty members commuting through Route 1 at our University, would like to respectfully request the administration to revise the current evening bus departure timing from 5:15 PM to 4:45 PM.

At present, students travelling towards Nagarbhavi usually reach only around 8 PM, and for many commuters, the journey still continues beyond that point. Due to long travel durations and Bengaluru traffic conditions, many students and faculty members are spending nearly 13 hours away from home every day.

This has become increasingly exhausting physically and mentally, especially after a full academic day. The issue has become even more difficult during the rainy season, with longer traffic delays, increased fatigue, safety concerns during late travel, and difficulties faced by both students and elderly faculty members.

Although the requested change is only by 30 minutes, it creates a major practical difference. Leaving at 4:45 PM instead of 5:15 PM can help commuters reach home approximately an hour earlier because of peak traffic conditions.

This small adjustment would significantly improve:

• student and faculty well-being,
• safety during travel,
• physical and mental health,
• energy and productivity levels,
• and the overall commuting experience for everyone dependent on Route 1 transportation.

We sincerely appreciate the efforts taken by the university administration and transport department in managing transportation services. Through this petition, we humbly request the administration to kindly consider revising the Route 1 departure timing to 4:45 PM in the interest of the welfare and safety of the university community.
