Subject:
Appeal to review and revise the eligibility criteria for the Physical Education Teacher (PET) post in EMRS Recruitment 2025 to ensure fair opportunity for all deserving candidates.

Respected Sir/Madam,

We, the undersigned aspirants and supporters, wish to draw your kind attention to the recent changes made in the eligibility criteria for the Physical Education Teacher (PET) post in EMRS Recruitment 2025.

In the 2023 EMRS Recruitment Notification, the essential qualification for the PET post was simply:

“Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from a recognized institution/university.” However, in the 2025 EMRS Notification, the eligibility conditions have been significantly revised as follows:

Four-year integrated B.P.Ed. course from NCTE recognized institution with at least 50% marks
OR
Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education / Physical Education and Sports offered by NCTE recognized institution with at least 50% marks, provided that Physical Education is studied in all the 3 years of graduation along with B.P.Ed. of at least one year duration (or its equivalent) from any NCTE recognized institution with at least 50% marks.
OR
Bachelor’s degree with Physical Education as an elective subject with 50% marks and participation in National/State/Inter-University level competitions in sports/games/athletics recognized by the Association of Indian Universities or Indian Olympic Association, along with B.P.Ed. of at least one year duration (or its equivalent) from any NCTE recognized institution with at least 50% marks.
Because of these new and restrictive clauses, nearly 60% of the previously eligible candidates have now become ineligible. Many qualified and experienced Physical Education graduates who have been sincerely preparing for EMRS recruitment are now deprived of the opportunity to apply.

This sudden and major change has caused deep concern among aspirants who have already invested years in preparing for this examination based on earlier norms. The revised eligibility conditions have effectively excluded a large section of deserving candidates — despite them holding valid B.P.Ed. degrees from recognized universities as per NCTE norms applicable during their admission.

Our Humble Request - We kindly urge the EMRS authorities to:

Review the revised eligibility criteria for the post of Physical Education Teacher in EMRS Recruitment 2025.
Restore the eligibility clause to what was mentioned in the 2023 notification — i.e., “Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from a recognized institution/university.”
Alternatively, allow candidates possessing a valid B.P.Ed. degree from any NCTE-recognized institution (irrespective of course structure) to be considered eligible for the 2025 recruitment.
This revision would ensure fairness, inclusivity, and equal opportunity for all qualified Physical Education graduates and uphold the spirit of merit-based recruitment under EMRS.

We sincerely hope that the EMRS and the Ministry of Tribal Affairs will consider this genuine concern and take corrective action to safeguard the interests of thousands of aspiring Physical Education teachers across the country.

With utmost respect and hope,
The Aspirants of EMRS Physical Education Teacher Post (2025)
