Request to Place Concerns Regarding Nelson Place School on the School Committee Agenda

Request to Place Concerns Regarding Nelson Place School on the School Committee Agenda

The Issue

The Nelson Place School community in Worcester is seeking urgent attention regarding ongoing leadership concerns. Since October 2025, parents and staff have raised repeated requests for support and intervention with the Worcester Public Schools administration. To date, these concerns have not been publicly addressed.

In December 2025, staff at Nelson Place School formally voted no confidence in the current principal, with 98% of participating staff expressing concerns about school leadership. This action reflects the seriousness of the issues being experienced within the school community.

This vote was not taken lightly. Educators and families at Nelson Place are deeply committed to providing a safe, supportive, and high-quality learning environment for students. After exhausting established channels for communication and resolution, the community is now seeking an opportunity for their concerns to be heard in a transparent and constructive setting.

Through this petition, parents, staff, and community members are requesting to be placed on the agenda for the next Worcester School Committee meeting. The School Committee serves as an essential forum for addressing matters that affect students, families, and educators, and Nelson Place School deserves the opportunity to be heard.

By signing this petition, you are supporting the request for dialogue, accountability, and action. Your signature helps ensure that the voices of those most impacted - students, families, and educators - are acknowledged and given the opportunity to engage directly with decision-makers.

Stand with the Nelson Place community in calling for transparency and meaningful engagement. Add your signature today to help secure a meeting where concerns can be shared and addressed.
