As a concerned citizen, I am deeply impacted by the leadership of our country, specifically, Vice President Kamala Harris. Considering the wide expanse of issues that we face as a country, leadership comes very personal to me. To that end, my conviction is that we need a leadership change in the vice presidency. While I acknowledge and appreciate the historical significance of Vice President Harris being the first woman of color in this position, I am of the firm belief that there could be a better-suited candidate to fulfill this role. We need leaders in office that reflect a myriad of perspectives and can make the best possible decisions for the American people. As we have seen in the 2020 General Social Survey, public trust in government is at a record low, with only 20% expressing a great deal or quite a lot of confidence in the executive branch. It is paramount that we restore this trust.
