The Issue

Background:

Corruption has infected Leon County, Texas for many years. In 2000, 4-5 suicides took place within one square mile near Centerville, Texas. These incidents were highly suspicious, given Leon County’s corrupt past.

The Case:

In December 2010, Janice Wilhelm allegedly committed suicide. She was shot by a .45 caliber semi automatic in the throat at such an angle the bullet went into her lungs and severed her spinal cord. It is quite difficult to shoot oneself at that angle.

Janice Wilhelm had no upper body strength and utilized a walker to get around the house following a stroke.

Before her stroke she had a 8 inch tumor removed from her left dominant arm that diminished upper body strength so that she began to use her right arm for tasks such as channel surfing with a remote.

Law enforcement claimed the deceased left a suicide note, but family were never allowed to see it. Nor were family members allowed a copy of the police report. Wilhelm’s son went to the sheriff’s office and was told to leave.

The arriving Deputy Gerry Grimes recorded the time of the 911 dispatch in which the operator was on the phone with the caller Gerald Willhelm.  His departure time for the scene and arrival time was consistent with the distance from town. 7 miles in 12 minutes. A farm and market road with several 45mph turns and 2 double S curves.

What was very inconsistent was upon arrived the local JP and County Coroner were already present with a representative from the Fire Department.  Her death was ruled and signed off an a "SUICIDE" before the corpse was removed from where it was discovered. Her reclining chair.

The suicide note was subpoena and was revealed to be nursing notes taken by the victim over 10 year prior (she was an RN)

A journalist in California requested the police report, photos, 911-call and autopsy report. The journalist turned over this material to Wilhelm’s family.

The police report asserted Janice Wilhelm killed herself because she was out of prescription painkillers, yet the photos reveal multiple prescription bottles with pills next to her chair and a UPS bill for a prescription delivery.

In a Texas Ranger report the husband who was alone with the victim when she was shot stated he had plenty of medication but had stopped taking them

In the initial 911 call and the Leon County Sheriffs report the husband claimed she was out of medication and had been cut off in one story.  In another on the 911 call he stated they could no longer afford them

The Texas Rangers initially refused to look into the case per Texas Ranger Jim Huggins who retired several months after the incident. His replacement Andre De La Garza seemed to ignore the pathology report and handwriting analysis. He sent the forged will to the DPS Crime Lab and when asked for handwriting samples closed the case.  He even interviewed the main suspect.

State Representative Linda Harper-Brown was furious on learning of the case and requested an investigation by the Texas Rangers.  Immediately following her departure from office the Rangers closed the case.

State Representative Trent Asby who represents Leon County did nothing and thus far has continued to do nothing.  The family members state representatives follow the same pattern.

Congressional Representative Kevin Brady also has refused to hear about the case although his mothers neighbor, a Doctor MD reviewed the case and agreed it was murder.  Kevin's mother and step father found it shocking although Kevin has yet to respond to the family. - Thank all our local elected representatives for doing nothing.

Incriminating Details from the Crime Scene:

1. On the chair Wilhelm was sitting in, is a grocery list, with prescriptions listed.

2. The blood under her chair is coagulated. Experts believe the victim was shot 12 hours prior to the 911 call.

3. Her hands are under a blanket, even though she had just shot herself.

4. The “suicide” weapon is a considerable distance from Wilhelm.

5. The brass discharged from the weapon is behind a sofa, covered with a red cup, impossible for it to be there unless someone shot Wilhelm standing over her.

6. On the autopsy report, the Dallas medical examiner writes ... “gun powder residue kit GPRS returned to…Leon County Sheriff’s office.” The Sheriff’s Office denies ever doing a test. The local funeral home staff member states they did; he saw it. In a later subpoena the LCSO admitted doing the GSR and claim it was "lost"

7. Pathologist Dr Vincent Di Maio, former Medical Examiner of both Dallas and Bexar Counties as well as leading murder pathologist in the United States investigated the death and states in his report that it is homicide.

Aftermath:

A new will by Janice Wilhelm appeared. Expert Documents Examiner Wendy Carlson declared it a fake. The new beneficiary drills an oil well that produces over $100k a month.

The beneficiary named in the forged will appears to be in league with Leon County law enforcement, the District Attorney, and the county Sherrif.

After NBC ran a story on this case the husband was suddenly discovered dead. He was cremated immediately.

In less than 48 hours his will was submitted for probate by a much younger woman who claims she had no idea she was his heir

The victims forged will has 2 witnesses and no notary.  Yet one of the witnesses was a notary at the time.

This woman would later commit perjury in a deposition by admitting she signed the will after it was already signed.

She also stated in a deposition as well as a recorded interview with a PI that has been aired nationally that she never met the victim Janice Willhelm.  Yet she testified in court at a secret probate for Janice Willhelms will that she knew the victim and was familiar with her handwriting
