The Issue

To the Leadership of the Fremont Unified School District

We, the undersigned parents, guardians, and community members of Mission Valley Elementary School, are launching this urgent petition to demand immediate district-level intervention regarding the upcoming 4th-grade teacher placements.

With the new school year starting this coming Tuesday, classroom assignments are being finalized, and families are facing an immediate and severe crisis that cannot wait for a standard, lengthy HR review process.

Our Core Concern

Our unified request is not based on individual student accommodations, minor educational preferences, or isolated incidents. Instead, our shared concern stems strictly from severe, well-documented historical behaviors and core competency issues previously demonstrated within specific classrooms across multiple years.

Critically, many students in our current cohort experienced severe anxiety and emotional distress during prior years under the same classroom management style. The psychological impact on these children has been long-lasting, and the damage cannot simply be undone. We fundamentally refuse to subject our children to this trauma a second time, nor will we allow any child in this cohort to serve as a test subject for a turnaround.

Why District Intervention is Needed Now

We have already submitted collective communications to Principal McClintock, whom we deeply respect and recognize for her unwavering commitment to the school. However, site-level administration is bound by strict union contracts, site-level policies, and standard universal complaint procedures. Because the school administration does not possess the immediate administrative authority to bypass these lengthy bureaucratic procedures, we are escalating this issue directly to district leadership.

We cannot accept a "wait-and-see" approach, a progressive discipline timeline, or an interim solution that leaves our children as collateral damage.

Our Demand

We urgently request that the Fremont Unified School District authorize a viable staffing solution, such as an alternative instructional leader, an administrative reassignment, or a qualified long-term substitute, so that these vulnerable students are not placed in unsafe classroom on Tuesday Aug 11, 2026 morning.

We want to partner with the district to resolve this matter safely, collaboratively, and effectively before the first bell rings. Our children's emotional well-being and academic safety depend on immediate action.

Sign this petition to stand with us in protecting our children and demanding prompt, decisive action from FUSD.

Sincerely,
The Concerned Parents of 4th-Grade Students at Mission Valley Elementary
