Request Holmdel Township to Modify Ordinance 7-7.7 for One-Side Street Parking

Request Holmdel Township to Modify Ordinance 7-7.7 for One-Side Street Parking
The Issue
Over the past several months, several homeowners have received verbal and/or written warnings from the Holmdel Police Department for their vehicle or a guests vehicle parked on Hawthorne, Bayberry and Twin. Currently, parking is phobited at all times, day or night, for these 3 streets. The warnings issued over the past several months were issued both late evenings and early afternoons. When a resident calls the police to alert them to a car parked on one of these 3 streets, an officer is dispatched and all cars parked on those 3 streets at that time will receive either a written warning or a ticket from the Holmdel Police Department.
As taxpayers in Holmdel, we have the right to be able to have guests park on the street near our homes. We do not live on a main road, but rather in a named residential development within Holmdel, and should be able to utilize a portion of the street we live on for overflow parking for events, contractors, etc.
We are asking Holmdel Township to update Ordinance 7-7.7 "Parking Prohibited at All Times On Certain Streets" to allow one-side of the street parking on Hawthorne Avenue, Bayberry Drive and Twin Terrace, where it is currently prohibited entirely.
According to data from New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT), allowing one-side street parking does not significantly impact traffic flow or safety in residential areas similar to ours.
By signing this petition you are supporting your fellow residents' right as taxpayers and contributing towards making our neighborhood more accommodating and helping to improve the resale value of your home. Let's work together towards this positive change! Please sign this petition urging the Holmdel Township authorities to modify Ordinance 7-7.7 to allow one-side of the street parking on Hawthorne Avenue, Bayberry Drive and Twin Terrace.
