The President of the United Nations General Assembly

United Nations Headquarters

New York, NY 10017

Subject: Appeal for UN Support Regarding Haitian Self-Determination and Governance

Excellency,

We, the representatives of the Movement Unforgettable Dessalines Jean-Jacques (MUDJJ), respectfully address you with a heartfelt appeal for your esteemed support concerning the urgent issues confronting the Haitian people, particularly their right to self-determination and the establishment of legitimate governance.

*The Situation in Haiti*

Haiti, as the world's first independent Black nation, possesses a rich and inspiring history, characterized by resilience and a relentless pursuit of progress. However, the nation currently grapples with significant challenges, including political instability, pervasive corruption, and grave human rights concerns. The Haitian populace is presently denied their fundamental right to democratically elect their leaders and determine the course of their nation’s future.

*Our Request*

In light of these pressing circumstances, we kindly request that the United Nations General Assembly consider the adoption of a resolution that:

1. Acknowledges and affirms the inherent right of the Haitian people to self-determination and legitimate governance.

2. Supports a peaceful transition towards a government that is truly reflective of the will of the people.

3. Encourages the international community to align with and promote the aspirations of the Haitian people for a brighter and more equitable future.

*The People's Voice*

Enclosed with this letter is a petition bearing the signatures of thousands of Haitians and supporters from around the globe, illustrating the broad and passionate support for this initiative. It is imperative that we amplify the voices of the Haitian people and honor their collective desire for meaningful and effective governance.

*Conclusion*

We earnestly urge the United Nations General Assembly to take decisive action in support of the Haitian people's quest for self-determination and responsible governance. Through collaborative efforts and international solidarity, we can pave the way for a more just and prosperous future for the people of Haiti.

*Respectfully,*

Eliphete Joseph

President

Movement Unforgettable Dessalines Jean-Jacques (MUDJJ)
