Request for NEET Re-examination Due to Exam Irregularities

Request for NEET Re-examination Due to Exam Irregularities
The Issue
To,
The National Testing Agency (NTA) and the Government of India,
Subject: Request for NEET Re-examination due to Exam Irregularities
Dear Sir/Madam,
We, the undersigned students and concerned citizens of India, are writing to bring to your immediate attention the serious irregularities and discrepancies observed in the recently conducted NEET examination. Our future and the integrity of the education system are at stake, and we cannot remain silent about these issues.
Here are the specific concerns that necessitate a re-examination:
1. NEET Paper Leak: It has been reported by the Patna police that the NEET paper was leaked at multiple locations. This severely compromises the fairness and integrity of the examination process.
2. Hidden Grace Marks and illogical High Scores: Some students have scored 718 and 719 marks, which is statistically improbable. There has been no defined or exact calculation logic for the grace marks given to these students. No List shared as per given grace Marks to students.
3. Unexpected No. of Full Scores and Very High Cut-off: A total of 67 students scored a perfect 720 out of 720, which is highly questionable and not digestible.
4. Concentration of Perfect Scores in One Center: It is highly suspicious that 5-6 students from the same center scored 720/720.
5. Drastic Score Improvements: There are instances where students who initially secured less than 200 marks in the preliminary exams ended up scoring more than 600 marks in the final result.
6. Score Discrepancies: Many students received different marks on their scorecards compared to their OMR sheets. These discrepancies were not due to grace marks, as these students were not from the centres where grace marks were purportedly given.
7. Mid-term Syllabus Revision: The mid-term revision of the syllabus added further confusion and unfairness to the examination process.
These issues have caused immense stress and moral breakdown among students, with some taking extreme steps such as contemplating suicide. As future doctors, our mission is to save lives, not lose our own due to an unfair examination process.
We urge the NTA and the Indian Government to take immediate action to address these concerns. Specifically, we request a re-examination to ensure a fair and transparent evaluation process for all students. The future of India's education system depends on the integrity and fairness of such crucial examinations.
We trust that you will consider our plea with the seriousness it deserves and take swift action to rectify these issues.
Sincerely,
Pragesh Chandra
