Request for Games Workshop to take a more active stance against scalpers

The Issue

As a fan, consumer and retailer of Games Workshop products, I share the communities concern about the issue of scalping.

Over the last few years I've seen a steady increase in cases where scalpers have seized large pockets of Games Workshop products on their release and then putting the items for sale on ebay and other online selling platforms within minutes of placing the order.

This is becoming increasingly frustrating to people who actively participate in the hobby and find that items that are target at them are increasingly out of reach due to stock selling out in minutes.

As a retail store holder it angers me that my customers and fellow hobby enthusiasts are being forced to pay the over inflated prices for items that the scalpers are consistently claiming online.

While Games Workshop has made the occassional effort to combat scalping, such as limiting the purchase quantities per customer and restocking popular items, there is still more that can be done. Here are a few suggestions that I believe could help:

Increase production: One of the main reasons for scalping is the limited availability of certain items. By increasing production, Games Workshop can ensure that there is enough supply for the demand, reducing the incentive for scalpers to hoard items.

Implement stricter purchasing policies: While limiting purchase quantities per customer is a good start, Games Workshop could implement stricter policies to ensure that only genuine customers are able to purchase their products. This could include the introduction of anti bot checks at the checkout.

Work with third-party sellers: Games Workshop could work with third-party retailers, such as Amazon or eBay, to crack down on scalping. By monitoring these platforms and taking action against scalpers, Games Workshop can help ensure that their products are being sold at fair prices.

I believe that by taking a more active stance against scalping, Games Workshop can help ensure that their products are accessible to all fans and consumers. Thank you for bringing attention to this important issue.

As we are getting close to the launch of Warhammer 40,000's 10th edition, now would be the perfect time to introduce new measures to help protect the interests of their customer base.
