I am writing to bring to your attention a matter of great historical and cultural significance, which I believe resonates deeply with the values and heritage of our great nation.Bakhtiyarpur railway station, located in the Nalanda district of Bihar, bears the name of Bakhtiyar Khalji, a figure historically known for his destructive invasions, particularly the annihilation of the ancient universities of Nalanda and Vikramshila. It is a poignant irony that a place of transit and progress is named after someone who once wrought such profound devastation on our centers of learning and culture.In the spirit of honoring our ancestors and their contributions to Indian civilization, I propose that the name of Bakhtiyarpur railway station be changed to reflect the legacy of those who stood as beacons of resistance, knowledge, and enlightenment. Here are a few suggested names:

Maharaj Prithu Station: To honor Maharaj Prithu of Assam, who resisted the invasions of Bakhtiyar Khalji and defended his people with valor.

Sariputra Station: Named after Sariputra, a revered disciple of Lord Buddha, who represents the profound spiritual and educational heritage of the region.

Aryabhatta Station: In tribute to Aryabhatta, one of the greatest mathematicians and astronomers produced by the region, who was also associated with the ancient Nalanda University.

Renaming the station to honor such illustrious figures will not only correct a historical anomaly but also serve as an inspiration for future generations, reminding them of our rich heritage and the values we stand for.I kindly request you to consider this proposal and initiate the necessary procedures to rename Bakhtiyarpur railway station accordingly. This change will be a step towards reclaiming our historical pride and paying homage to the true heroes of our past.Thank you for your attention to this matter.
