Request for a New Autopsy for Christy Lynn Carroll's 1995 Case

Request for a New Autopsy for Christy Lynn Carroll's 1995 Case
The Issue
Our pursuit of justice is rooted in deep personal pain and sense of responsibility. The case revolves around Christy Lynn Carroll, whose death in 1995 still carries unresolved questions and contentious speculations. The autopsy previously performed by Dr. Charles Harlan, who now has a revoked medical license, was abjectly unhelpful, lacking basic tests and credible medical practices. It is a chilling fact that a simple Google search will reveal his reputation of incompetence. On this shaky ground, justice for Christy is unstable.
Now, it is our goal to ask the DA's office or Lewis County Sheriff's office, to consider exhuming Christy's body and having her case re-studied with a fresh set of eyes. By doing this, we can ensure that potentially overlooked details are thoroughly investigated, providing Christy with the justice she and her loved ones deserve. This process could also aid in revealing inconsistencies or inaccuracies from Dr. Harlan's procedures like other overturned cases he was involved in. It's not merely about overturning a stone unturned, but it's about showcasing respect to Christy's life and the rule of law.
We ask you to contribute by signing this petition to persuade the relevant authorities to take necessary actions. Help bring justice to Christy Lynn Carroll and sign this petition. Thank you for reading & your time.
Christy Carroll
It's a question that people in her small town still wonder, what happened to Christy Lynn Carroll at 18. She left behind an 18 month old daughter. Her daughter now an adult with daughters herself, understands the responsibility she has to outcry for help to pursue justice as her daughters surely would do for her.
When she was found on Feb 6, Her body and face were very clearly battered.
The evening of February 4, Christy made plans to sleep at a friend's house but got separated from her friend at some point in the evening at a bar, with Christy cruising around town with her brother, before leaving with Daniel Lay and Eric Amacher, who offered to give her a ride back to her friend's house.
At around midnight, Eric had his first run in with law enforcement that night, while their car was overheated.
Christy was with him and Daniel at that point, alive and well.
At 2 am, deputies responded to reports of a suspicious man near where they'd happened upon the overheated car earlier. Only Amacher was there, leaving the scene of a different car crash.
On Sunday, it was discovered that Christy never made it back to her friend's house, and on Monday, a mailman found her battered body next to her driveway.
Her family spent all of Sunday looking for her, and Mom reported that she'd left the home several times Sunday and Monday morning and would have saw Christy.
Reports say there was blood covering her face and contusions on the left side of her groin and thigh, her clothes were filthy, her jewelry was still on, only her shoes were missing. Her pants were pulled down and her shirt pulled up and ripped.
Charles Harlan ruled her death hypothermia. No rape kit was performed, and no time of death was suggested. Possible coagulated blood was found in her stomach. Her BAC was recorded at both .01 and .10.
Both Lay and Amacher were questioned by police immediately upon her death. The initial story was that they propositioned Christy but she declined. Taking that in stride, they dropped her off at her door between 12:30 and 1 am. Ever the gentleman, Amacher walked her to the door.
Later, he said he dropped her off halfway up the driveway, and then just watched to make sure she made it to the door safely.
The last statement they made had her falling in the driveway as they drive off.
Shockingly, neither man would agree to take a polygraph.
In October of 1995, Amacher told police he'd make a statement (a new one) about what happened that night, provided he be granted immunity. The DA refused and Amacher's mom put a muzzle on him, on advice from an attorney.
No charges were ever brought.

Interesting except from the angelfire site:
*The police told the media that Carroll's body was found in a ditch. No such ditch exists on the property of that house.
Carroll's mother was in and out of the driveway 4 times on Sunday. There was no snow on the ground. Visibility was optimal. The official version of events is dependent upon one's belief that a mother never noticed the body of her daughter laying on the ground only feet from where her car passed four times. She even stopped at the mailbox once to see if her income taxes were there but remembered it was Sunday. There were several family friends up and down the driveway that day. Not one of them noticed a corpse not too far from the front door. A family friend, Mr. Holt, was working on his truck in the yard and denied ever seeing Christy in the yard. A neighbor, Eli, left on foot from visiting the Carroll’s and walked down the driveway (would have walked right beside her) on his way back to his house & denied ever seeing her body on the ground.
The autopsy on Carroll was performed in Nashville by Dr Charles Harlan. Dr Harlan was, at the time, officially barred from performing autopsies due to an ongoing investigation of malfeasance. He did not perform the most basic tests to determine whether or not Carroll had been raped. He did not suggest a time of death. The autopsy records two different blood alcohol levels. One of .01. The other .10. 20cc of "coffee ground fluid" were found in Carroll's stomach. "Coffee ground fluid" is coroner lingo for coagulated blood. Possibly the result of a beating. The autopsy, and the death certificate, are virtually meaningless as evidential documents.
In October of 1995, Eric Amacher again tried to confess the truth of his involvement in Carroll's death. He asked for immunity. District Attorney Joe Baugh refused. Agent Tenery conducted an almost nonexistent investigation into the matter. He told Christy's mother that he knew the Amacher family very well. He said that Eric was a "good boy".
The Lewis County Sheriff's Department talked to the investigator for the District Attorney's office. He said that he was willing to investigate. Joe Baugh would not allow that.
The Carroll's tried in vain to get the assistant DA to perform some simple diagnostics.
Such attention to detail was just... "TV stuff."
The District Attorneys General Conference Executive Secretary, Pat McCutchen, was asked by a representative of the Tennessee Crime Victims Coalition why Joe Baugh refused to properly investigate the murder of Christy Carroll.
After consulting with him, McCutchen reported back to this person that Baugh indicated the matter was unimportant to him. He told McCutchen that Christy Lynn Carroll was nothing more than, "a whore".
