Request fee concession for MIT-WPU students
The Issue
As a student of MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU), I chose this institution for its exceptional on-campus learning environment and made a significant financial commitment with my tuition fee. However, since 27 March 2026, my expectations have been disrupted due to the ongoing renovation work of the Ganga Building. This crucial facility on campus has remained closed, and as a result, my classes, along with those of many other students, have been conducted online.
While I genuinely appreciate the University's endeavor to maintain academic continuity through online lectures amidst the building's closure, it is undeniable that this shift from in-person to virtual learning has deprived us of the full campus experience we anticipated and are paying for. The discrepancy between the fees paid for a robust on-campus education and the current online-only mode of learning needs to be addressed.
The continued closure of the Ganga Building has affected not just my education but also the overall college experience for many students. The promise of interactive, face-to-face learning, access to on-site facilities, and the vibrant campus life are invaluable aspects of university education. When these are unavailable, it raises the question of whether the current fee structure is reflective of the services being provided.
Therefore, I urge MIT-WPU to consider a fair and just fee concession for the affected students. It would be a gesture of understanding and support, acknowledging the altered learning environment and its impact on students' academic and social lives. An adjustment in fees would not only alleviate financial burdens but also demonstrate the University's commitment to transparency and fairness.
