Request equal recognition for Pakeha as a native white race in New Zealand

Request equal recognition for Pakeha as a native white race in New Zealand
The issue
Living as Pakeha in New Zealand today is increasingly challenging. We face blame, shame, and defamation, our western values, cultural traditions, and national identity are steadily being eroded. The pervasive de-colonisation projects and rampant anti-Christian sentiments are deeply insulting and offensive. We believe these trends contribute significantly to the alarmingly high rate of suicides among our people—a grave issue that remains largely under-reported and underfunded within the mental health sector.
Our petition seeks to address these serious concerns by requesting that individuals identifying as Pakeha be legally recognized as a native white race, on par with Maori, as originally intended by the Treaty of Waitangi. We also request that Pakeha be restored as an ethnic option on the census forms. This foundational document united two races with the promise of shared rights and responsibilities, as specified in Article 3. We implore our Parliament to honour Queen Victoria's directive to the Governors in 1860, which categorically stated there should be no distinction between the two races in law, thereby preventing burgeoning apartheid, persecution, and state-endorsed discrimination that continue to cause unwarranted harm while sowing division in our nation.
Such recognition can balance the books, promote genuine unity and mutual respect between the 2 races, aligning with the spirit of the Treaty which aimed at bringing two peoples together under equal consideration and dignity. To correct the widening societal fractures, we must ensure that our governmental policies do not prop up one race to the detriment of another.
We believe this change is essential for social cohesion, respect for all cultural identities, and preserving peace in our shared homeland. By legally acknowledging Pakeha as equal by treaty rights, practical steps can be taken to alleviate current tensions and ensure balanced funding and representation, especially concerning mental health resources.
Support our petition to pave the way for an equitable future. Sign and help us call on our policymakers to take meaningful action now.
