Request Disney’s Assistance to Find Lost Cat

The Issue

Help Bring Rascal Home — Ask Disney’s Fort Wilderness to Cooperate in the Search

Rascal — a beloved orange-and-white family cat — went missing on Disney property on March 7, 2025, at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground (4510 North Fort Wilderness Trail, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830-8415).

Despite multiple confirmed sightings and scent verification from certified tracking dogs, Rascal has not yet been recovered. His family has been desperately searching for months, but their efforts have been constrained because Disney strictly controls access to the property, prohibits guests and outside professionals from setting humane traps, and does not allow drone searches — even by licensed teams.

We, the undersigned, respectfully request that Walt Disney World Resort and the management of Fort Wilderness take reasonable, compassionate action to help this family reunite with their missing pet.

We urge Disney to immediately:

 1. Allow or reinstate humane live traps in active sighting areas and confirmed scent areas, maintained properly and checked daily.

 2. Permit certified lost-pet recovery experts (trackers, trappers, and drone teams) to assist under supervised conditions.

 3. Communicate transparently with the pet’s family regarding sightings, trap activity, and internal efforts.

 4. Treat Rascal’s case with urgency, recognizing that he is not a stray but a family pet lost on Disney property.

Why this matters

 • Multiple guests and staff have reported orange-cat sightings in the same area, meaning he is likely still alive and still on property. In addition to that, two separate professional tracking dogs have come to Fort Wilderness and confirmed Rascal’s scent on-site.

 • Traps previously placed by Disney were not consistently monitored or replenished with food, and have since been removed.

 • The family is prohibited from using the very tools proven to recover lost cats — traps, trail cameras, trackers, and drones.

 • Disney has the resources, equipment, and access to help — and the family is simply asking them to use it.

Our request is reasonable, humane, and compassionate.

Disney has the opportunity to show integrity, leadership, and heart by helping bring Rascal home.

We ask Disney to work with the family — not block the search.

Please join us in urging Walt Disney World to allow qualified assistance and humane recovery efforts so Rascal can finally be reunited with the people who love him.
