The Issue

As residents of our community, we find ourselves shouldering a heavy burden of property taxes, yet receiving very little in return. Our neighborhoods, labeled among the most prestigious, have been plagued by recurrent challenges that have repeatedly been neglected by city authorities, despite numerous appeals and meetings with the mayor's office. It is disheartening to witness a continuous increase in property taxes while the quality of services provided remains subpar.

Over the past year, our community has experienced a staggering number of thefts broad daylight. Astonishingly, there has been a complete lack of follow-up from local law enforcement, with not even a single call to check on the welfare of victims. This absence of accountability is deeply concerning and highlights a grave oversight in city service priorities. Similarly, requests for the installation of security cameras or other protective measures have been consistently denied, leaving residents feeling exposed and vulnerable.

Beyond safety concerns, our community's infrastructure is in dire need of attention. The roads are riddled with potholes, causing inconvenience and potential damage to our vehicles. The negligence does not end there. Snow plowing services have been poorly executed, with excess snow and debris being dumped onto lawns, damaging grass and landscapes meticulously maintained by residents. Weeds are allowed to overrun the streets, detracting from the visual appeal of our neighborhoods and undermining the value of our properties.

It is disconcerting that despite the high property taxes we pay, our streets remain neglected. Much like our prior, unaddressed requests, we seek reasonable, fair taxation in alignment with the services being offered. The resolution is straightforward: we propose a reassessment of our property tax rates to better reflect the services actually provided to our community.

We urge city officials to acknowledge and address these pressing issues. By signing this petition, you lend your support to our demand for lower taxes and improved city services. Stand with us as we seek justice and fairness for our neighborhood.
