The Spokane Complex wildfires forced many people from their homes and caused major damage across the community. Many residents are now focused on their homes, families, and recovery. They should still have a chance to take part in decisions that will shape Spokane for the next 20 years.

Governor Bob Ferguson has already extended other deadlines because of the fires. We ask the City Council and mayor to request the same relief for Spokane’s Comprehensive Plan.

Please ask the governor to extend the December 31, 2026 deadline by at least six months.
