We, the concerned fans and supporters of women’s basketball, call upon the NCAA and relevant authorities to ensure fairness in officiating women’s basketball games and hold accountable the officiating crew of the 2024 SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament, specifically Kevin Pethtel, Angelica Suffren, and Pualani Spurlock-Welsh.

The recent debacle during the 2024 SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament, where the officiating crew failed to uphold fair gameplay and officiating standards, resulting in a brawl between both teams' benches, is unacceptable. We demand that Kevin Pethtel, Angelica Suffren, and Pualani Spurlock-Welsh be reprimanded and held accountable for their failure to create a fair gameplay experience, which escalated into a regrettable altercation. Furthermore, we urge authorities to thoroughly investigate the actions of other officiating members, such as Gina Cross, Tim Greene, and Roy Gulbeyan, for their poor performances throughout the season.
