My heart aches and my conscience demands that I speak out. For far too long, the children of Shanika Grant in Sumpter, South Carolina, have suffered abuse right before our eyes. What's even more heartrending is that despite clear, repeated evidence, the Child Protective Services (CPS) of Sumpter County have failed these innocent children by not taking the urgent action needed to protect them.

Shanika Grant, a mother entrusted with the care of her children, has time and again displayed abusive behaviors towards them. This isn't speculation – it's a documented reality visible on her own social media channels. Many in our community, myself included, have watched in horror as these disturbing events unfold online. Yet, the very organization tasked with shielding these vulnerable children from harm – CPS – has neglected to intervene adequately.

Child abuse is a grave matter. National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data reveal that approximately one in seven children in the United States experiences child abuse or neglect annually.
