As a lifelong fan of Bob Dylan (Originally Robert Allen Zimmerman), I believe that the folk icon's portrayal in any form should be as authentic as possible. It has recently come to light that Timothee Chalamet was cast to portray Dylan, a choice that I am aware many fans disagree with, including myself.

I believe that the right choice would be casting an actual musician, or someone who isn't overexposed in the film industry for the role of Dylan in the upcoming biopic 'A Complete Unknown'. Real music is already a seemingly dying art in the 21st century, and we should support musicians whenever possible. Bob Dylan is not just a national treasure, but an international icon whose music has influenced so many artists across generations. He has worked with countless other iconic musicians and has done so much for music since the 1960s. His unique sound and style are not something that can be easily replicated by actors without a musical background. Moreover, Timothee Chalamet's recent omnipresence in Hollywood could potentially overshadow the essence of this film - which is to celebrate and understand Bob Dylan's life and artistry. Therefore, we implore the producers to reconsider their casting decision for this important role. It is never too late!
