Replace "The US National Anthem" with Limp Bizkit's "Rollin"

Replace "The US National Anthem" with Limp Bizkit's "Rollin"

The Issue

Ever since I can remember, I've been a fan of music that defies labels and fosters unity. With that comes my admiration for the band Limp Bizkit, and their liberating anthem, "Rollin". The song's universal appeal transcends gender, social class, and even language barriers, uniting ladies, fellas, and the people that don't give a f***. It's a throbbing celebration of individualism that deserves to be our national centerpiece.

The current National Anthem, however incredible it may be, has a complex rhetoric style, written in an old form of English that could potentially isolate non-native speakers and the younger generation. Moreover, according to a 2013 Harris Poll, only 61% of American adults knew all the words to "The Star-Spangled Banner." (Harris Interactive, 2013) It's time to bring forth a symbol that truly resonates with our diverse and evolving society.

Also, we mustn't ignore Limp Bizkit's rich cultural impact both in the US and worldwide. Their raw, relentless energy, exemplified in tracks like "Rollin'," has driven them to sell an estimated 40 million copies globally (Billboard, 2013). "Rollin'," the last song performed atop the World Trade Center, is a historic moment. It also gained cultural significance as the Undertaker's theme song at Wrestlemania XIX, highlighting its influence in American entertainment.

Let our national emblem reflect our stride towards inclusivity, towards a future where every citizen, no matter who they are, can feel the passion of unity bellowing from the chords of their national anthem. Let's get "Rollin'" into the heart of America. Stand with me to magnify this unified call. Sign this petition, let's make "Rollin" our Nu National Anthem.
