The intersection of Stone Canyon Road and Bellagio Road was recently re-designed by City engineers: two stop signs were replaced by yield signs. In an area of Stone Canyon that has been plagued by people speeding, the stop signs were the only obstacles that slowed them down. There was an accident on "day one" of the yield signs due to confusion. The City's reply to the neighbors is "change can be challenging." This is unacceptable: we want our stop signs back. PS: Please note that the NEW, confusing double yellow lines are a nuisance, but the real issue is the speeding that occurs with yield signs vs. stop signs.
