Replace Crestmead State School Crossing Supervisor for a Safer Environment

The issue

As residents of Crestmead, QLD, Australia, we have noticed an unsettling change in the atmosphere at the school crossing of Crestmead State School. The current crossing supervisor, Ilene, has consistently demonstrated behaviour that is grumpy, rude and downright disrespectful to both children and parents who daily traverse this vital crossroad to education. In fact, more disturbingly, she has been seen to walk defiantly in front of moving vehicles - risking not only her own safety, but indirectly, the safety of our children.

When challenged, the aggrieved parties have been met with verbal abuse, including unwarranted name-calling. This kind of behaviour is not only unprofessional, but it fosters an unpleasant environment for our children, making them dread a journey which leads them to a place of learning, growth and development.

We miss the days when the always cheerful Sue presided over the crossing. She possessed not only the ability to perform this function efficiently, but brought a sense of friendliness and community to the role. We believe Sue's approach chimes more with the values we'd like to model for our children and each other, and we think it's high time she returned to the front school crossing.

As part of this community, let us join hands to not just reclaim our friendly neighbourhood environment, but also ensure the safety of our children who deserve nothing less. Please sign this petition to support the reinstatement of Sue as the crossing supervisor at Crestmead State School.
