The Chicken tax, imposed on light duty trucks imported to the United States, severely impacts the light duty truck market in the US due to recent inability to meet demand and resulting in gross overinflation in the light duty truck market.  This negatively impacts US consumers by not only the inability to acquire a light duty truck, but by pricing out a majority of US consumers in need of said trucks.  

By repealing this tax and allowing imports of light duty trucks, it not only increases availability and inventory of vehicles in the US but also provides healthy competition to encourage continued development and increased reliability of US based vehicles.
