The Issue

NO MONEY NEEDED, signatures only please!

As a resident of Hermes Court in San Diego, I've seen firsthand how deteriorating road conditions affect the safety and well-being of our families and neighbors. According to public records, Hermes Court was last paved in 1990 and partially repaired in 2008. Since then, the road has become a major hazard for our children, who cannot safely play outside or ride their bikes on the uneven surfaces. Our children have endured countless injuries over the past 10+ years ranging from scrapes and bruises to even broken bones while attempting to use this street for daily recreation. It's equally concerning for our elderly neighbors who find it difficult to walk or even navigate with vehicles due to the road's poor condition.

The constant dust kicked up by passing cars is not just an inconvenience; it poses a severe health risk to everyone in the area, potentially exacerbating respiratory issues and reducing our overall quality of life. Additionally, our vehicles suffer repeated damages due to the potholes, dust and uneven surfaces, leading to costly repairs.

According to the City of San Diego's road maintenance plan, streets like Hermes Court that are in dangerous condition should be prioritized for repaving. However, our street has been continuously overlooked, putting our community at risk and endangering the lives of our residents every day.

We urge the City of San Diego to include Hermes Court in the upcoming repaving street project (Egger Highlands Improv 1). By doing so, the city can improve public safety, enhance the quality of life for its residents, and prevent further damage to residential property.

Please join us in this urgent appeal to the City of San Diego by signing this petition. NO MONEY NEEDED, just your signatures please! Your support is crucial in urging decision-makers to prioritize our street and other streets like ours in their upcoming projects. Together, we can make Hermes Court a safer place for everyone.
